PHOTOWORKSHOPS IN RIGA

This week photoworkshops
for youngsters
in Riga just started. On tuesday we meet the first time. I showed them
a short
slide show about history of photography and explained the basic
principle of the
camera. On thursday we went back to the roots and tried to build a
camera
obscuras. We put photo paper into shoe boxes and just went to take our
first
photos! As photographers in earlier times we also had some small
problems.
After the developping process we saw the results. The most interesting
things
we saw? A part of a house with a window and we also discovered a shadow
or
reflexion of a person. It’s a beginning!
The
next time we
will do portraits of each other and start to discover the magic of b/w
photographies.
Besides working with digital technique we will expose films and also
developp
on our own. Youngsters are welcome to join the workshop on tuesday the
7th of
june. It will take place in Rigas Makslas Skola from 4pm. If a camera
is
present, please bring!
